Meet Winnie! Winnie is a gorgeous and charming 9 year old Chihuahua who weighs about 9.5 lbs. She just LOVES people- men, women, kids of all ages- and her absolute favorite activity is getting tummy rubs. She would be a great candidate to visit nursing homes or hospitals or other therapy work due to her amazing temperament. She needs slow introduction to other dogs, but we think she would do well with another respectful small dog. Winnie was from a local animal control where she came in as a stray and was never reclaimed. She had some mammary growths that were removed and tested. Unfortunately, they came back as cancerous. According to our vet there is a low likelihood of it reoccurring,, but there is a chance. All growths have been removed, she has gotten a full dental cleaning and bloodwork, which showed no signs of illness. We think she has many years left to live and we are looking for a special adopter to open their hearts to a cancer survivor. Winnie's adoption fee of $200 helps cover the cost of her medical care.
