My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm doggie breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think that they're facing euthanasia in a high-kill shelter.

Farfel's was immediately contacted and told about the great personality and over- the- top cuteness of this special puppy...we made the decision to help Harper find her first ever forever family. She deserves a great home and loving guardian just as much as any other sweet pup with a great temperament.
Please note - the only photos that were made available to us in no way show the cuteness and irresistible personality of this special puppy . We've requested better, clearer photos and will update upon receipt of them.

Harper, at just 8 weeks old and 4 lbs, was facing the possible end of her life just as it was beginning. ...she was rescued just in the nick of time. This sweet and engaging Toy Fox Terrier/Rat Terrier mix (an up and coming designer mix that's loved for their tiny size, super-soft coat and engaging personalities) is starting out with great energy...the excellent results of her temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a new life. Harper is also very beautiful...with the gorgeous, shining and cottony-soft coat that speaks of her breed mix.

Harper is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. She's so smart and very engaging...so typical of these breeds. She's also bright and so loving (loves to cuddle in your lap-but watch out..puppy energy may call). Harper clearly has no memory of her scary early life. Since she is such a young girl, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. Harper has all the potential in the world to be an awesome companion and will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs and humans) and learn positive socialization skills through being exposed to many different situations out in the world such as puppy kindergarten and positive reinforcement group obedience classes. It does take a bit of time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the outside world with appropriate behavior.

We're very open to Harper finding her forever home with active retirees with lots of time and energy to train and enjoy a young dog. Harper is known to enjoy children..we feel that older, dog-crazy kids would be best due to Harper's tiny size. Roughhousing with other dogs is always very fun for Harper...she'd love another playful dog to run and tumble with.

Harper is up to date on her vetting, but has yet to be spayed. We're hoping that she'll be fixed when she arrives from New Mexico, however a puppy like Harper is often deemed too young to fix. If this is the case, Farfel's will cover all costs for Harper to be spayed and microchipped at our vet in Denver to be in line with our commitment to be a part of the solution to pet overpopulation.

Harper will be arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 7/1/17. If interested in this beautiful and very sweet and loving best friend , please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
