My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When Sheba's rescuer walked down the aisle of the dismal Texas shelter, she was shocked to see the terrified yet adorable (and so sad-looking) Sheba tucked tightly into a cage...her time was up due to lack of space. Farfel's Rescue immediately got a call describing how incredibly cute and sweet this pup is..and the need to save her life. We immediately agreed and Sheba became a very treasured Farfel's dog.

Sheba earned a ticket to a wonderful new life in Colorado with her great personality (although initially a bit shy..who wouldn't be?) and her kind attitude toward the world. At just about 7.5 - 8 years old (perfect age..old enough to have left all babyish behaviors behind and young enough to have many active, healthy years ahead) and a perfect couch-cuddling size of 19 lbs, this beautiful girl is a blank slate waiting for positive input and guidance to be the best dog she's capable of being.

We'd love to match Sheba to a family that will spend lots of time with this very portable pup..she will fall completely in love with her special people and there's no more loyal companion around than Sheba. She's a perfect size to accompany her family just about anywhere...and would love it.

Sheba has gotten a ton of hugs and attention at the shelter..and pretty much everywhere she goes. You immediately know she's sweet...and just a touch vulnerable right now. It's clear that she hasn't been given the pure love that she so deservers... and we can't wait for a great individual or family to make her the diva she should be. After some great nutrition and a spa day, Sheba will have the stunning pure-white, very healthy and cottony-soft coat that speaks of her breed.

When Sheba turns her gentle (yet very wise) look in your direction, you can't help but smile at her soft gaze and gentle ways. You can see just a touch of a sign that this dog has had difficult times. But not for her to be negative..a smile and a wag is more Sheba's style.

Farfel's Rescue is searching for an adult family (or with older, very gentle kids) for Sheba. She does very well if initially, she's allowed to progress at her own speed. It frightens her when people grab at her...initial slower movements with a loving voice will make this girl your very best friend. An active retired couple or individual would be perfect for this beautiful girl. She would thrive on the time and attention that she could share. Sheba is a very loyal and extremely loving dog..that makes her easy to spend time with just enjoying the wonders of life in Colorado.

Sheba would also enjoy time with dogs of similar size who could be gentle playmates. When you're only 19 lbs, even a very well-adjusted pup can be intimidated by larger, rambunctious dogs.

Sheba will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 7/28/17. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful Sheba. If interested in this adorable and sweet...and often very entertaining best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
