My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

One-year-old Mabel came to Home Fur Good in July. She is a medium-sized Labrador Retriever mix weighing 33 pounds. Mabel is instantly your best friend, and she will climb right into your lap to smother you with kisses. She has no hesitation in showing affection. Mabel does know the cue to sit and she is anxious to learn more. She has been used in demonstration training classes at the shelter. Mabel is both treat- and praise-motivated, making learning easy and fun for both Mabel and the teacher. She is considered a “soft” dog, meaning words hurt. Mabel is driven to please and being corrected verbally is enough to make her adjust her ways. Mabel will need to be the only dog in her new home and she would do best with older children who understand dog boundaries. She is a playful puppy with a bottom made out of springs and a helicopter tail. She just needs direction and training to become a good canine citizen. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm, and Mondays by appointment, and we are located at 10220 N. 32nd Street (just south of Shea Blvd.) in Phoenix. Out-of-state adoptions to surrounding states are possible; however, an in-person introduction with us and our dogs is mandatory. We offer a low-cost vaccine clinic on Sundays from 11:00 am-2:30 pm, and a low-cost dental clinic on Wednesdays by appointment. Visit our website at www.homefurgood.org for more information.
