My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Arrival story: This gentle giant got stuck in a rural shelter that practices pound seizure (releases animals to be used in research). We saw he was in danger so we had to act fast and here he is... in foster care waiting for a special home.

Approximate age / weight: Four (4) years old and a muscular 103 lbs.

align="justify">Personality: This dog is a real laid-back boy who likes to cuddle and get belly
rubs. He is low energy and quiet. His best feature, though, is his tongue, which tends to hang out much of the time. You will think he is irresistably adorable as much as we do! He rides great in a car and doesn't mind being around cats.

If you can believe it, Dozer came to Waggin Tails with heartworms, kennel cough, and an ear infection,
not to mention intestinal worms. His current foster mom is taking him for heartworm treatments, medicating for the intestinal worms and the ear infection, and he's showing signs of feeling better already! Whew! Dozer will be neutered after the heartworm treatment is complete. You'd think after all this that Dozer would be depressed but nope, not this guy. He knows special people are waiting to adopt him.

Forever home: Dozer's foster mom is still learning all about him and will post updates soon about what type of forever home would suit him best. So, stay tuned! In the meantime, feel free to fill out an adoption application for Dozer online by visiting our website www.waggintailsdogrescue.org

Contact: Lori at loridames@comcast.net

Pre-Adoption Application: To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to wtdr2008@yahoo.com

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $175 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $100 for senior dogs (9 years +), $275 for small breed dogs and $200 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age.
Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).

Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.

Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
