Duke's Story...
Duke is a very skinny, high-energy, snuggly, lovable, people-friendly one-year-old, 50-pound Rottie-mix looking for a loving home. Duke knows the commands sit and down and takes treats very gently from your fingers. Duke is so friendly, and just adores people. He loves to be pet and cuddled. Duke is looking for a home as the one and only pet and would love a foster home so that he can get out of the kennel situation which he finds so stressful. Duke is healthy, neutered, up-to-date on rabies, distemper, and bordatella vaccines, micro-chipped, and heartworm-tested. To meet and possibly adopt him, please contact Sue at recsvcspecinc@sbcglobal.net or 815-268-4164. His adoption fee of $150 benefits rescued dogs. Duke is in a kennel in Momence, Illinois.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duke, a Chicago Rottweiler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rottweiler for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Rottweiler dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rottweiler breeders who help with Rottweiler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
