Here's what the humans have to say about me:
10/11/09 We believe this girl to be a Penn, Mary-Del strain of American Foxhound. Gorgeous! ......... Sweeeeetheart is Lucy! She's a favorite of our volunteers. This girl loves to be with people and we have no doubt is going to make someone or family a devoted loving pet. Lucy is still a pup at 14-16 months of age. Probably pure bred, she has a tattoo inside her ear. We were unable to trace to any kennel or group. She's really not a big girl at 52 pounds, very regal, graceful looking American Foxhound. Tricolor short, easy care coat. True to the breed, Lucy is sensitive yet willing to please. Well socialized - very friendly to all including children. Will do best in home with another dog to observe and keep each other company. Crate trained and housebroke. Still needs work on leash walking. As with all hounds - needs a secure fenced large yard for exercise & play. Such a loving pup, always wagging her tail. Probably best with another dog for company. Spayed, vaccines up to date, heartworm negative and prevention started. Wonderful disposition - gentle girl! Adoption fee $170.******** BREED Description: The American Foxhound is sweet, affectionate, gentle and loving at home. The hunting lines can be brave and intense warrior in the hunt. They are excellent with children and get along well with other dogs because of their pack-hunting background, but should not be trusted with non-canine pets unless they've grown up with them. Friendliness to strangers varies widely, however majority are very friendly dogs. Healthy breed : American Foxhounds are free of many genetic diseases such as hip and bone problems, which plague other large breeds. Life expectancy upward of 14 years. LUCI=Gentle+Sweet is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
