Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lexi is a gorgeous, sweet, loving, loyal, energetic, playful, and sleek, people and dog-friendly, 45-pound, two-year-old, female, red and white, red-nosed Pit Bull Terrier looking for a loving home. Lexi was rescued in Gary, Indiana, where she was found as a stray. She had horrendous lacerations on her back, a luxating patella which required surgery, and broken teeth that needed repair. It’s not clear what happened to this poor beautiful girl … possibly hit by a car, or abused? After almost a year of TLC, surgeries, and training, Lexi is ready to find the home of her dreams. She is now very healthy and well-trained. She knows how to sit on command, and takes treats very gently from your fingers. And, even though she’s a medium-sized dog, she thinks she’s a lap dog and will cuddle up for as long as you’ll allow her. She even lets you trim her nails without a fuss. Lexi is wonderful on leash, great in the car, housebroken and crate-trained. She is a wonderful companion who calms down in the home and is happy to sit on her bed and chew on her rope toys. Despite all her trauma of a sad past, Lexi remains a happy and friendly girl who loves people and other dogs (her size or larger). She even goes to doggie daycare where she plays in a group of similarly-sized energetic canines. Lexi is healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on preventative. She would do best in a home with a dog her size or larger, or she’s happy to be the only dog in the home and soak up all your love. She does not do well with cats or small dogs. And, since this acrobatic, athletic girl can easily leap a four-foot fence, a six-foot-fenced yard would be ideal.
