Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi there. My name is Bonez. I got that name because when I came to Valley Dogs I was all bones.
I was picked up by Maricopa County Animal Care and Control as a stray, and my time there was just about up. I was lucky and Valley Dogs came and rescued me and I am so excited to get a second chance at a happy and healthy life.
I can be a bit shy and reserved at first, but don’t let me fool you – I am full of personality and love and will make you laugh at how silly I can be at times. I enjoy spending time cuddling and loving on my humans, but I also have times I like to be bit independent and do my own thing.
Because I am so small (from my shoulder I am the same height as a short street curb) I cannot jump up onto furniture. I can jump down off of furniture, but it is not good for me because it will cause spinal injuries. Steps and/or ramps are a necessity in my new home.
I love to be with my humans and am curious about everything so I will try to jump onto and will jump down off of furniture. You will have to be mindful of where I am so I don’t hurt myself trying to stay with you, so be prepared to lift me up and down as you move around the house (unless there are steps/ramps readily available to me). The human sized steps in my foster mommy’s home are hard for me to navigate because of my short legs. I have made it up and down a few, but it is difficult.
Don’t let my little legs fool you though – I love my walks and outside time with my humans. I may be little – but I do my best to keep up with the big dogs, although if we go for a long walk mommy has to carry me part of the way because I get winded.
Mommy says I am very good about going potty outside and I know how to use the doggie door. I have three other bigger dogs I am living with and although I don’t let them boss me around, we all do well together. I think I would like a little doggie companion to keep me company when my new humans aren’t around.
Can you give me the special loving home I need? If so, please contact my foster mommy to make arrangements to meet me. I am anxiously awaiting my new family and hope to meet them very soon.
