Foxy's Story...
Foxy is a very beautiful four-year-old, 40-pound (chubby), female Shetland Sheepdog aka Sheltie looking for a loving guardian. Foxy is a very affectionate, loving and gentle dog. She is well behaved in the home and is completely housebroken. Foxy doesn’t have much of a bark. I’m not sure if she has been de-barked or whether she’s just a quiet girl. She has always lived with other dogs and is wonderful with them. She knows the commands sit, down and shake, takes treats very gently from your fingers, and even has some agility training! She is a typical nervous and shy Sheltie who prefers a quiet home with patient dog-lovers to help her become a more confident dog. She is looking for an adult-only home; children make her nervous. To meet and possibly adopt her, please contact her foster mom Samantha at palsplace1@hotmail.com or 773-615-9864. Her adoption fee of $250 benefits the rescued dogs of Pal’s Place. Foxy is healthy, spayed, de-wormed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm-tested, and micro-chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Foxy, a Chicago Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
