Indy's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Indy's Story...
Indy is a very beautiful, friendly, high-energy, fun, sweet, active, energetic, and happy three-old, 35-pound, female, black and white Border Collie-mix looking for a loving guardian. Indy loves people; she is full of kisses and tail wags. She also loves other dogs and is good with cats. She is quite the lover, super snuggly, and rolls over for belly rubs. Indy loves to play fetch, enjoys the dog beach and loves to swim. Indy is perfectly housebroken but still in the training stages. She knows sit, shake and takes treats gently. She is currently working on perfecting her leash manners and learning not to jump excitedy on people. So, she’d do best in a home with children over the age of eight that she wouldn’t knock over. Indy has her quirks like sleeping under her foster mom’s bed, but overall is a fabulous canine companion. Indy is extremely healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, de-wormed and heartworm-tested. If you are interested in adopting this lovely girl, please contact the rescue group at adopt@aliverescue.org or her foster mom Meaghan at 773-396-2128. Her adoption fee of $250 benefits the rescue dogs of Alive Rescue. She is currently living in a foster home in Chicago with a dog and cat.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Indy, a Chicago Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
