My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Arrival story: Spencer was pulled from a rural shelter when the time on his young little life was up.

Approximate age / weight Approx 10 mths and 27 lbs

Personality: Spencer is an easy-going, sweet little pup. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home, both male and female. He loves to play but settles down nicely to chew a bone or cuddle with his foster mom. Spencer is already house trained and will alert you when he needs to go outside. He adjusted quickly to his foster home and is very attentive and willing to learn the routine. Spencer has been a very good boy no matter what he is asked to do.....he was even good for his first bath and nail trim! We are still getting to know Spencer and will post more soon.

Forever home: Spencer will likely fit into a variety of home environments. Spencer would do best in a home with a physically fenced yard so he can explore and follow his nose as beagles tend to do. Spencer didn't like to be alone when he first arrived and will need to be safely crated when home alone until he feels safe and secure in his surroundings. He loves other dogs and would thrive with a canine companion. Spencer is recovering from kennel cough and is scheduled for his neuter on March 2nd. He will not be ready for adoption until after March 2nd but we are accepting applications.

Pre-Adoption Application: To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to wtdr2008@yahoo.com

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $225 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $125 for senior dogs, $275 for small breed dogs and $250 for puppies, plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).

Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
