My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I’m Sweet & Silly Sparky. A 1year old shepherd mix, full grown at just 50lbs, looking for a “pack” to call my own.

Arrival story: I came to Waggin' Tails from a rural shelter. I’ve been a perfect houseguest in my foster home. They don’t come much sweeter or affectionate than me. I’m completely housetrained, stay in my crate while the parents work all day, ride in the car like a lil angel (you won’t even know I’m there just lying down in the back seat), love all people and other dogs, too. You can see me and my foster-dog-brother playing together in one of the pics. I’m good at the vet’s office and with getting my nails clipped, too. My short hair doesn’t shed much and have a very unique look about me.

And just so you know… I have learned to sit on command, lay down, and I always come when called. I also walk pretty darn good on a leash and love to stretch my lanky legs on walks at the park or in the neighborhood. All the people who pass by smile and say, “what a cool dog.” I know “leave it” too. So when we pass ducks, geese and bunnies I just keep on walkin. Pretty smart dog, ay?? One of my favorite games is playing fetch with one of those big, rope toys. I even drop it on command. I’m an average chewer so if you got me a nylabone I would be your best friend forever. Oh, I also love drinking from the hose in the backyard. Did I mention I rarely bark??? Uuummm…foster Mom says I snore but I’m not sure I believe it.

Forever home: If you’re looking for a dog who’s silly and entertaining that’s move-in ready just let me know. Cuz I’m your dog!!! I'd do well in a moderately active home with just adults or with kids, preferably over five yrs since I could knock them over easily. Another doggie buddy to play with would be great, too. I will be so happy to find a forever home that I will bond with you quickly and be your bestest buddy ever.

Love, Sparky
