SMOKEY's Story...
Pictures before & after grooming.........Smokey was found deposited in a gentlemans backyard. Apparently this isn't the first time someone has dumped a pet in his neighborhood close to a busy street. Smokey is pictured with long matted fur. When shaved, we've found him to have a nice brindle color coat. We believe Smokey to be a Shih tzu mix young male adult. Probably less than 2years. Seems to like men more than woman at this point. He is housebroke and does not care for the families own 2 senior German Shepherd pets. Cats unknown. Probably best in quieter home with older children if any. We are still learning about Smokey. Neutered, vaccinated, heartworm check negative & stool negative. Accepting applications.Adoption fee $175........Smokey does have what is commonly known as "cherry eye." This does not affect vision or health. Email or go to our website to download an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

SMOKEY, a Toledo Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Toledo, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Toledo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Toledo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Toledo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Toledo paves the way for another one to be saved.
