Uggs's Story...
When a couple in Barnegat began hearing soft meowing coming from their backyard right before Christmas, they searched high and low for the source. For two days the search went on, with no luck in finding the kitty that was letting out the quiet cries. Finally by the third day, after more extensive searching, they had found him.....a tiny black and white male kitten was hanging from the back of a fence, with his leg caught between the posts. They rushed him right to our veterinarians at Popcorn Park Animal Clinic for treatment. The little guys leg was badly swollen and they feared a break, but xrays showed just profound soft tissue swelling. Upon further examination, it was also discovered that this little boy also had multiple fractured teeth and was dehydrated as well. The healing process began, and this little baby, who was named Uggs, was given the medical care he needed, a soft, warm bed, and some good meals to get him on the road to recovery. Uggs received physical therapy for his leg injury and is making remarkable progress. He is now healthy, happy, and ready for a home to call his own. This 2 1/2 month old kitten is calm, quiet, shy and loving and would love a good, safe home with people that will care for him and love him the way he deserves. Please consider opening your heart and home to our little Uggs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Uggs, a Forked River Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
