Herbie's Story...
This handsome young man is Herbie. Herbie is a lovable and affectionate little guy that is about 3 years old now. He came to us way back in the summer of 2012 when he was trapped by someone. Herbie was a bit scared and timid when he first came in, but with lots of love and TLC, Herbie blossomed into a curious and outgoing little guy that loves life and everyone in it. You may have seen Herbie prancing around our free roaming area. He is the little guy that comes to the outside gate to greet everyone and get some attention. He's quite the social butterfly! Herbie is such a sweet boy and he has a great time in his area socializing with his friends and finding a nice, soft perch to nap on. He would fit right in to any loving, caring family that would cherish him and welcome him into their lives. File#21667 7/2/12

About Our Shelter...

The Associated Humane Societies, founded in 1906, is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey. We comprise three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls . Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park Zoo. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park Zoo is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not for profit, 501 (c) 3 organization, and Popcorn Park is also a federally licensed zoo. The Society prides itself on our devotion to the thousands of animals that we care for annually and the chance for a better life we offer them. Please learn more about the Society and Popcorn Park Zoo throughout our web site, watch A Century of Caring, visit the zoo, public service, giving back, and the various programs we have for them. Come back often ... good things are always happening because AHS cares!
