My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dutchess! She is a beautiful pit bull that is looking for a family to call her own. She is approximately 2-3 years old, and came to the rescue November 2012. Unfortunately, Dutchess did not have a great start in life, as she had been used as a bait dog and then abandoned at a local gas station. Although she was left tied to a propane tank, covered in wounds and scars, she showed us that she had a heart as big as the moon. Scratch that! Her heart is bigger than the moon.

Upon arrival at our vets office, it was obvious that this sweet girl had been through a ruff time. She had to have several surgeries and drains to remove fluid, and pieces of stick (yes you read that correctly) STICKS from her neck and wounds. She still never let this get her spirits down, and after several months, Dutchess' scars were healing nicely.

Dutchess has been in foster with small children, and simply adores them. She is definitely going to make some family very happy! We will only adopt Dutchess locally to Henderson and Buncombe counties in North Carolina. And although she has to be the only animal in the home, we just know in our hearts, the perfect family is out there. The adoption fee for Dutchess is $150. She will come home with 2 months of heartworm preventatives, she is up to date on her vaccines, spayed and micro-chipped. Above all else, when you adopt Dutchess, you are going to receive a huge lap dog, more love than you can handle, and a best friend for life! Please consider opening your heart and home to this precious girl, as she deserves nothing more than loyalty and companionship of a family to call her own. In return, we promise, she will give you the same.
