Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Utzi is a very handsome, agile and playful, four-year-old, 17-pound, male Lhaso Apso looking for a loving guardian. Utzi was rescued by a teacher, from one of her students, when he was a six-month-old puppy. The teacher and her family tried to rehabilitate him following six months of neglect and abuse, but he still has issues. Utzi loves to run and play. He lived for the past three years with a female Labrador retriever who he adored. He has spent time at doggie daycare and gets along with all the other dogs (not cats). He is 99% sweet and loyal to those he loves, but has a bite history from when he’s been afraid and has lashed out. So, as cute as Utzi is, he carries some baggage from his past. He is perfectly housebroken and extremely healthy. He is looking for a person or couple who are extremely dog-savvy, are aware of fear-bite triggers, can watch his body language, and can keep him safe. Utzi is healthy, de-wormed, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative. To meet and possibly adopt him, you can contact his foster mom Julie at jtwerks@yahoo.com or 847-845-1811, or the rescue group at fido@famousfidorescue.com or 773-907-0305. Utzi’s adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued dogs of Famous Fido’s Rescue and Adoption Alliance. He is currently being fostered in Wilmette, Illinois.
