My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Rocky. I got that name because I look like Rocky Road ice cream and I am just as sweet, too! A nice lady found me curled up on her patio and contacted Valley Dogs. No one has claimed me, so I am in need of a new, forever home. Might it be with you?

I currently live in a foster home with many other dogs and I do well with all of them. In fact, I would probably do best in a home with a canine friend. That way I have someone to play with and to keep me company when my humans can’t be with me.

I walk well on a lead, and am house broken. I know how to use a doggie door, and would love to have yard where I could run and play. (You should see me run - I'm like a rocket!) I would also do okay in an apartment or townhome as long as my new owner is dedicated to walking me every morning and evening, with potty breaks in between.

I can be a little insecure of people I don’t know until I understand they won’t hurt me. Once I bond with you, I will be your best friend and protector, alerting you to anyone who I don’t know coming around. I do okay with kids (again, once I know them), but would do best in a home with mature children who know how to properly handle a small dog and how to introduce me to their friends when they visit.

I have been kennel trained, but I really love to cuddle up next to my foster mom and sleep with her at night – especially now that it is getting colder. The good news is I don’t take up much room!

If I sound like the right fit for your family, please come and visit me.
