My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Skip is an extremely sweet, soft, gentle, loyal and loving, three to four-year-old, 50-pound (skinny), female, purebred American Foxhound looking for a loving guardian.

Skip was rescued from a pound in West Virginia. Luckily she found a wonderful foster home in Chicago where she is enjoying the company of three other dogs who she adores. She’s even playful with visiting puppies … and her goofiness comes out when you offer her a treat. Other than that … she’s so calm.

Skip has a unique gait … that of a dressage horse. Perhaps that’s how she got the name Skip. She is perfectly crate-trained and working on perfecting her housebreaking. She’s otherwise great in the home … no chewing. While she loves dogs over 20 pounds, she’s not that good with tiny dogs or cats… she thinks they are fun to chase.

Skip bears the scars of an unknown past … scars on her nose, rips in her ear and a chunk missing from her lip. But she’s as sweet and gentle a dog as I’ve ever met. Her biggest fears in life are loud noises … lawnmowers and cars … she’s not aggressive, she just pulls to get away.

Skip is learning to sit on command and takes treats incredibly gently from your fingers.

Skip is healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on heartworm protection. Her adoption fee of $200 benefits Famous Fido’s Rescue Group. To meet and possibly adopt Skip, please fill out the on-line adoption application at: http://famousfidorescue.com/rescueforms/machform/view.php?id=26727 and follow up by contacting her foster mom Rose at roseerino@gmail.com or 773-343-7716. She is being fostered in Chicago, Illinois.
