Bella's Story...
Bella is an adorable teacup chihuahua who weighs 3 lbs 9 ounces and is 3 years old. She is a sweet, friendly baby with a great spirit who is looking for her forever home. She is very quiet in the home and loves to sit on your lap and be held. She also likes to run around and play with stuffed toys. She gets along with other dogs who respect her personal space. She appears to be trained to use pee pads and we think she prefers this to going outside, although she will go outside, too. Like many small dogs, she does have luxating patellas (loose kneecaps), but the vet said that as long as she is walking and because she is so tiny she does not need any type of treatment or surgery. It will just be important that her new family keeps her at her proper weight to avoid any extra strain on her knees. We can't say enough good things about this precious little one. Bella's adoption fee is $250, which is used to cover her veterinary care.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website at under the "Adoption Process" tab. All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested (as appropriate), dewormed, fecal tested, and microchipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bella, a Romeoville Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Romeoville, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Romeoville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Romeoville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Romeoville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Romeoville paves the way for another one to be saved.
