Here's what the humans have to say about me:
S’Mores is an adorable, happy, snugly, sweet, and gentle, six-month-old, male, grey and white, Crested Guinea Pig looking for a loving guardian. A family bought a new condo which is not pet-friendly, so they sadly had to find a new home for their dog and guinea pig. S’Mores was taken care of by a 13-year-old girl who absolutely loved him. She played with him and snuggled with him. He’s good about letting you trim his nails and hold him. The Petsmart employee in Evanston told them the family not to feed their new guinea pig any greens or hay as it will cause stomach upset. So all he was eating was pellets. Now he is eating only an 1/8 of a cup of pellets a day and loving his unlimited hay and tasting bits of fresh vegetables including romaine lettuce, spinach, kale and parsley. He can also have small bites of bell peppers, carrots, squash baby food, canned pumpkin, zucchini and sweet potato twice a week. Guinea pigs can have such a fun and varied diet … it’s sad when they are so limited by boring and fattening pellets. S’mores’ adoption fee of $100 benefits rescued pets and includes his cage, toys, hidey hut, pellets, litter, hay, water bottle and food bowl – everything you need to get you started. To meet and possibly adopt S’mores, please contact me directly at sheri@petraits.com or 773-777-2891. He is currently living in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
