Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dora is a very beautiful, smart and opinionated, three-year-old, female Cairn Terrier looking for a loving guardian. Poor Dora was dropped off at Chicago Animal Care and Control when her family no longer wanted her. We don’t know how she was raised or what she went through, but she needs a very special, patient, understanding and dog-experienced family. She is an utterly adorable, independent little girl, who enjoys playing with her toys and receiving attention - on her own terms. Dora knows how to sit on command and if you pull out a treat her tail wags happily. She takes treats nicely from your fingers. Wherever she came from, she was not accustomed to being touched and handled. She is affectionate with the people that she knows and loves. But, there are certain places that even those that she loves cannot touch her … like her back end. And, she does not like to be picked up from the ground, however she’ll jump right in your lap and you can pick her up from there. So, she is quirky but not completely un-manageable. Dora has a few dog friends that are about her size or smaller, but she is afraid of larger dogs. So, she’s looking for a home as the only dog or with another compatible small dog. Dora is very healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative. To meet and possibly adopt Dora, please fill in the on-line adoption application at http://famousfidorescue.com/rescueforms/machform/view.php?id=26727 and follow up by contacting Gloria at fido@famousfidorescue.com or 773-907-0305. Her adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued pets of Famous Fido’s. Dora is staying at rescue headquarters at 5430 N. Clark Street in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
