Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Callie (also known as “Miss Callie Waggles” & “Ms. Busybody”) is a sweet little Beagle girl who was originally picked up as a stray by the animal shelter. Unfortunately it was discovered that Callie had heart worm disease. Due to limited resources, K-9 New Life took Callie in from the shelter & treated her for the heart worm disease so she is now healthy & ready to be adopted into a loving home.
Callie is an easy going & happy dog who is interested in everything that's going on. She wants to be where the action is. All new environments are an opportunity for Callie to investigate & checkout the great smells (thus the name “Ms. Busybody”). Callie is about 5 years old & small (25 lbs), the perfect size to snuggle in your lap. She loves to play with her toys (pull the stuffing out), play with the other dogs (wrestle and play chase), lie in the sun & nap, get treats (& more treats), & generally just be a dog. She rides nicely in her crate in the car & enjoys going everywhere & anywhere, including to the vet & the groomer. She is good with children, ignores cats, & likes all other dogs as long as they are introduced slowly so she does not get overwhelmed. Once she gets to know the new dogs she's fine. She is crate trained & often goes into her crate voluntarily to take a nap. Callie would be best in a house rather than an apartment or condo with shared walls because she is a Beagle and, though she generally is very quiet, she can occasionally be vocal. She also needs a fenced yard.
Callie is a sweet dog who will provide lots of love, companionship, entertainment, & the occasional Beagle howl. All she asks for in return is a family who will rub her belly, take her for walks, throw her a toy, give her treats, & be her best friend. Love a Beagle? Callie might just be the right dog for you.
