My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Phillip!
We are really not sure of his breed so it’s a guess! Here’s what his foster parents say about this super handsome young man:
Phillip is a crazy bundle of a life-loving, tail wagging boy! At 21/5 -3 yrs old, he still maintains 120% of his puppy-like exuberance.
Do you like being greeted with enthusiasm when you return home? Phillip NEVER disappoints with his happy welcome. In fact, he sometimes will bowl you over with his excitement! Because of that, we recommend he live with kids who are 12 yrs old and over.
He needs a loving home with a 6-foot privacy fence so he can explore the joys of chasing birds and squirrels.
He is house-trained and crate-trained and gets along wonderfully with other dogs.
Phillip is the sweetest of the sweet, but he does tend to get a little mischievous late in the afternoon.
Do you have clutter you haven’t taken care of in months? Phillip will be happy to pull something off your shelves to chew. Oddly, he is usually well- behaved with food around, but he loves to find some random item to sink his teeth into.
He is talkative when he sees other living things on a walk and when his food is being prepared but is generally quiet when outside in his yard. If you want to spend time with a dog that loves to have you close by, make plans to meet Phillip today! You will NOT be disappointed 🥰
If you would like to meet Phillip, please go to our website at k9newlife.org under “Dogs for Adoption” and fill out our online adoption application.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our goal is to find loving, lifelong homes for our dogs.

We require an adoption application, a home inspection, and $250 adoption donation. This helps pay for medical care, dog food, and supplies.

To ensure we find the best homes for dogs in our care, our adoption process involves several steps. Adopting a dog requires a commitment of love and responsibility for the welfare of the animal, just as you would have for a human member of your family. Please consider the challenges that come with owning a dog as these challenges are often the reason many pets end up in shelters.

1. Complete our online adoption application: http://www.k9newlife.org/adoption-application.html

2. Once your application has been reviewed, we will contact you.

3. A home check is done to ensure the dog will live in a suitable environment.

4. A meet and greet will be arranged for the adopter and the dog(s) of interest.

5. An adoption contract must be completed to finalize the adoption process.

Prior to adoption, all of our dogs receive a general veterinary checkup, vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test (treatment, if necessary), heart worm/flea/tick prevention, and spay/neuter.

More about this rescue

K-9 New Life is an all breed, no-kill dog rescue organization located in southeast Virginia. We are registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

The mission of K-9 New Life is to take in dogs from shelters when they have run out of time or are injured or too sick for the shelters to handle. We provide them with health care, rehabilitation, training, and a loving foster home until they can be adopted. Our focus is to give these less fortunate dogs a second chance to live the life they deserve.
