Important Note

Thelma is best friends with Weezy. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
I'm the tiny one on the left in the picture. I'm a medium-size Chihuahua, I am sweet, but very shy and timid. I draw a lot of comfort from being near my sister, Weezy. We'd be happiest if we could live together forever! We're only 4 years old. We love to play together, to sleep in the same crate and lie next to each other when we're outside of our kennel
We were adopted for a 3.5 years, but had to return to Chihuahua Rescue because our person couldn't keep us any more. We miss our person, but we know we will make someone else very happy in a new forever home. .
I'm shorter in length and height than Weezy is and have smaller bones. I weigh only 4.8 lbs. I guess I was the runt of the litter. I have less white on my face and feet than she does. We're very friendly with people and love lap time, though we take a little while to get used to new people and new places. We're also very quiet in the house.
I'm all caught up with my shots, I've been spayed and microchipped. I'm ready for my forever home! Are you ready to take home 2 of the sweetest dogs EVER?!? My adoption fee is just $250, but it will be only $400 to take Weezy and me together!

About Chihuahua Rescue Indiana- Indianapolis Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. is a non profit, all volunteer rescue working with Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. The pets are housed in individual volunteer foster homes, not kennels or shelters until they are adopted permanently. We get to know our animals and therefore can tell the potential adopter what the traits of the animal are and what home would be the best for the pet. We are dedicated to the adoption, education, rescue and transportation of the Chihuahua breed. We believe that every Chihuahua deserves a loving home.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

Donations are up to the individual and are made to a not for profit organization.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold adoption events at local Petsmarts, Pet Supply Plus, and Petcos. The dates are fluid and they do coincide with the nationally advertised adoption events at the locales.

Our Adoption Process...

**If you are unable to pay the adoption fee, we are unable to place a dog in your care. Being unable to meet the financial obligations of pet care (recurrent or emergent) is one of many reasons why so many of these pets end up in rescue. It's not lack of love.**
We require an adoption inquiry, and then we will check references. We also check with vets. If the person is not LOCAL then we will partner with a local animal control or Humane Society to do a home visit and give us the go ahead to adopt.
There are adoption fees associated with the costs of veterinary care of the pet. We require an adoption contract to be signed to finalize the adoption process and we have an agreement that all our pets are to be Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. pets for LIFE. In other words, in the event that they can not stay in their adoptive home they are not to be surrendered to another individual or rescue.
