My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Approximate age / weight: 7 yrs old / 40 lbs

Good With Kids: Yes

Good With Other Dogs: Yes

Good With Cats: Yes

Housetrained: Yes

Crate Trained: Yes, but unnecessary

Walks Nicely On A Leash: Yes

Knows Basic Commands: Working on them

Energy Level (Couch Potato, Moderate or High): Couch Potato / Moderate

Special Needs: She is best kept on a diet until she reaches her optimum weight. A daily Glucosamine supplement is also recommended.

Arrival story: Due to financial troubles, Bell’s family surrendered her to Waggin’ Tails. The family loved her but they could no longer afford to keep her.

Personality: Belle is super sweet and loves her belly being rubbed every chance she gets. She is laid back, but she really enjoys her food -- as all Beagles do! She’ll remind you when it’s time for breakfast and dinner by letting out a soft bark. She is currently overweight and needs to lose at least 10 lbs to regain her girlish figure. Belle wags her cute little tail whenever she sees a leash nearby and loves to go on walks! She is easy on a leash and will be a perfect companion for someone who enjoys going on short walks several times a day. Once she sheds a few ponds and builds up her stamina, she’ll likely enjoy longer walks.

Forever home: Belle’s new family must provide her with a “regulated” diet -- no table scraps please. A mild exercises program with some quality play time is best for her. Although she was previously diagnosed with mild arthritis in her hind legs, we have not seen any sign of problems. She makes up and down stairs without any issues. We feel weight control is the key to keeping her pain free. Belle is about 7 years old and will make her forever family very happy for years to come.

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information:

Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $225 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $125 for senior dogs (9 years +) , $275 for small breed dogs and $250 for puppies, plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue does not have a shelter facility. All of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar on our website at www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted. This application does not imply an obligation to adopt by the applicant or by the rescue group.

Our volunteers have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries are the quickest way to obtain information about a dog.

Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
