My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Thurman is about 1.5 years old. He is a happy, friendly, playful boy when he is confident, which is more and more since he has grown to trust his foster family. He came to us from Elizabeth City and is still learning to live by the beach mantra "relax". New people and sudden sounds can put him on high alert, but he is getting better at coming back around.

He has a very gentle personality, and he likes to snuggle beside you during TV time. He's also very willing to share the bed and can curl up to be pretty small, so he doesn't take up too much space!

Weighing only around 45 lbs, Thurman is an ideal "medium-sized" dog. He seems happiest walking on a retractable leash (full cloth). House trained and good with cats. He would thrive the most in a home with at least one dog playmate. He has an 8 year old Pitbull/Hound mix brother in his foster home, and they enjoy gentle games of nipping each other, playing tug of war, or just racing around the back yard. Walks are an important part of the day for Thurman, and he will bark with happiness when you get the leash. He especially enjoys the beach, where he has been showing a keen interest in the water.
