Rescue FAQs

We're Rachel and Jen, two bleeding hearts who have trouble saying no. I'm Rachel, a veterinarian and I'm Jen, a veterinary assistant. We work together to rescue animals that are considered 'unadoptable'. That means any animal that can't go immediately up for adoption. Often they're sick or injured. Some are underage, unfriendly, unthrifty. They need 24 hour care, sometimes emergency surgery, a lot of TLC, and a safe place to heal. Every animal in our care has its own individual needs and we strive to make sure we address them. Being in the medical field gives us the advantage of being able to take on the hard cases. And we wouldn't have it any other way. This year, we've had a large increase in the number of medical/surgical cases we've taken on. And that means we're finally needing to ask for help in funding the care and convalescence of these critters. Usually the money comes out of our own pockets and we make it work, but it's only May and we're already up to our eyeballs in special needs cases. So please follow the stories of the creatures we take on, and enjoy watching their journey. If you have a few bucks to spare, we'd be grateful. A big thank you to everyone, Rachel & Jen
