Rescue FAQs

4 Paws Pet Rescue is a small all volunteer dog rescue group whose goal is to make a good match between an adopter and a homeless dog. We are not focused on a particular breed, size or age. Instead, we try and take in a wide range of temperaments and personalities that would suit a wide range of potential adopters. We regularly have small, medium and large breeds, dogs that do well in apartments and ones that need a yard. We usually have dogs that are good with kids as well as dogs that would do well in a less active, adult environment. 4 Paws Pet Rescue has been rescuing dogs since 1999. We are a non-profit 501(c) c group. Our dogs come from all over, shelters, strays or owners who must surrender them for various reasons. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and vet checked.
We are in the city of Vacaville and require home inspections. We have an adoption radius of 50 miles but often will go farther if there is a volunteer available.

Additional adoption info

Each dog has a different adoption fee and it will be stated as posted. There is also a microchip registration fee that is noted as well. Senior dogs are priced lower than younger dogs since they are hard to adopt. We require an application, then you come out and meet the dog with your family and any other dogs in the home, then we complete a home inspection if all goes well. Adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis. We try to place our dogs in the home that will be the best fit for dog and adopter.
