Fulton County Regional SPCA's Adoption Process

Adopting from Regional SPCA is an easy process which will help you find the dog that is perfect for you and your family. It involves finding out a little about you and your home, visiting with the dogs and talking with one of the animal shelter professionals. After you have decided which amazing animal you would like to adopt, we will ask that you fill out an application. Applications are available online at https://fcrspca.org/adopt in both an online and downloadable (pdf) version.

Due to COVID restrictions, we are not allowing any visitors at our shelter to meet the furkids without a pre-approved application.

From there you can expect:.

~You will be called for an interview and an initial visit will be scheduled at that time.
~If you currently own other pets you will also need to schedule a meet and greet between the animals. This will ensure that your family members will all get along with your new addition and can be done at the shelter if preferred. This can be done multiple times so the pets can adjust.
~You must have proof of vaccination before your dog can be let into the shelter’s yard or if we meet at your home and/or at a neutral location.

The adoption fee is $195 for dogs, and $250 for puppies 6 months of age and younger. The adoption fee includes the spay/neuter, microchip, heart worm testing (our dogs are on heartworm preventative when they leave the shelter), Rabies vaccination, 5-in-1 vaccination (against canine distemper, canine hepatitis, adenovirus, parainfluenza, and parvovirus), Lyme vaccination, Bordetella vaccination, nail trim and flea treatment (if necessary). Puppies will also be wormed. Puppies are able to go home once they are 10 weeks of age.

The adoption fee is $125 for a cat, or $175 for a bonded pair. The adoption fee includes the spay/neuter, microchip, FIV/FeLV testing, Rabies vaccination, distemper shots, worming, nail trim and flea treatment (if necessary). Kittens are able to go home once they are 10 weeks of age. Please note that all of our cats, if any are available, are in foster homes!

An adoption contract will be finalized at the time of adoption. We do offer (and recommend) a foster-to-adopt trial period.

Payment can be made by cash or check only and is due at the time of adoption.

About Fulton County Regional SPCA

Fulton County Regional SPCA is a volunteer-run, donation-funded, not-for-profit organization founded as Regional Animal Shelter in 2002. The doors of our Annex opened in May of 2012. We re-incorporated as an Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in 2019.

Our mission is to engage the hearts, hands, and minds of the community to help animals. We provide immediate shelter and care for any homeless or abused animals and either reunite these animals with their owners or find them new, loving homes. We will actively promote animal and owner education, training, and public awareness to improve the lives of the animals in our community and beyond.e.
