Do mutts have better temperaments?

The idea that mutts have better temperaments than purebred dogs is a common misconception. While it’s true that many mutts are incredibly friendly and well-adjusted, a dog’s temperament is influenced by their breed makeup, training, and socialization.
Some mixed-breed dogs are lap-dogs, while others would rather run laps. Some are quiet and polite, while others are vocal and gregarious. Mutts can be confident or shy, active or lazy, adaptable or anxious — every component of their temperament varies from one mutt to the next.
