Adopt a Pet Awards $60,000 in Commit to Change Grants to Animal Welfare Organizations

Adopt a Pet is proud to support animal welfare organizations with our 2024 Commit to Change Grants. $60,000 in grants were awarded to nonprofit and municipal animal welfare organizations recognizing their innovation, professionalism, and dedication to caring for pets and pet families in need in their communities.

Commit to Change grant applications were open to animal shelters and rescues in the U.S. and Canada that care for adoptable pets. Grants available within three categories, encompassing becoming a Gold or Silver Certified Partner of Adopt a Pet, Pet Profile improvements for adoptable pet profiles on Adopt a Pet, and referring to Rehome by Adopt a Pet, an online service that supports animal shelters and rescues seeking to help more pets and families in their communities, keeping pets out of shelters. Within any of the three categories, a special grant was awarded to the participation report that illustrated creativity that will inspire other animal welfare organizations by encompassing diversity, social media, or out-of-the box thinking.

The animal welfare organizations who were selected to receive 2024 Adopt a Pet Commit to Change grants are:

• Farmhouse Animal and Nature Sanctuary, Myakka City, FL

• Greenfield Pets Animal Rescue, Cortland, NY

• Passion for Pitties, Chula Vista, CA

• Pets Lifeline, Sonoma, CA

• Pope County Humane Society, Glenwood, MN

• The Rescue Train, Van Nuys, CA

• Tyson’s Place Animal Rescue, Holland, MI

• Waymaker Rescue, Tahlequah, OK

“Adopt a Pet is thrilled to support animal welfare organizations through our Commit to Change grant program. These grants empower shelters and rescues to enhance their services, build trust with adopters, and ultimately help more pets find loving homes,” said April Huntsman, Senior Director of Animal Welfare, Adopt a Pet. “Whether it’s through improving pet profiles, becoming Certified Partners, or increasing Rehome referrals, these organizations are making a lasting impact on the lives of pets and families alike.”

Over the last 20 years, Adopt a Pet has supported a network of more than 17,000 animal shelters and rescues serving families and pets in local communities across the U.S. and Canada.
