Their adoption process

Adoption application approval, brief interview, meet and greet and adoption fee are required, and we do check references. Some of our dogs do require a home visit.
Our adoption fee includes all vaccinations, spay or neuter surgery and a micro-chip. Pets cannot leave our facility without this done.
Visiting hours are every day by appointment only, pending weather conditions.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
An application must be requested via email as we do not have one online. Visits are by appointment only after we receive your application.
  2. Approve Application
All applications must be approved for the pet of interest before a visit can be set up. We do not offer public access.
  3. Meet the Pet
Visiting hours are by appointment only for meet and greets.
  4. Sign Adoption Contract
There is a contract to be signed before said pet can be picked up.
  5. Pay Fee
Adoption fee includes all vaccinations, spay or neuter and a microchip

Hours for visits are by appointment only 6 days a week upon application approval. Because we are an outdoor facility, hours may vary due to weather conditions. (830-981-2300)

More about this rescue

Our History:
Our organization was established in May of 2000 as a No-kill, 501 (c) (3) non-profit shelter. At that time animals were fostered and adopted out by word of mouth out of a donated space at a local veterinary clinic, staffed completely by volunteers. We outgrew that space quickly and moved into our own location in 2002 becoming a key resource in the community. We are located on IH-10 West in Fair Oaks Ranch, near Boerne, housing only dogs. We have made great improvements through the years and hope to increase the number of animals rescued, increase adoptions, fundraising events, and reach more communities. We provide a temporary shelter, care and rehabilitation to homeless and unwanted dogs until responsible, loving homes can be found. As a no-kill shelter, we want to help reduce the number of animals euthanized each year by educating the public on the importance of proper pet care, animal behavior and overpopulation prevention. All of our dogs are fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before leaving our facility.
We are "Saving lives others have toss away".
