My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Rosie and I’m a one year old, seven pound purebred “deer head” Chihuahua. I’m not your typical skittish or snarky Chihuahua. I’m friendly and outgoing. I even gave the vet kisses! I love to play, snuggle, and follow my people everywhere. You won’t be lonely or bored with me around. I have a diminutive stature and an inquisitive nature hence my nickname, Nosy Rosie. I follow my people everywhere. My foster home has 2 cats and 2 other dogs and we all get along pretty well. I would like a home where I can be the Princess and hog all the attention.
Rosie ended up in rescue because she was dumped at a kill shelter. In the 2 months she was at the shelter she lost over 2 pounds because she refused to eat. She was dangerously thin. Chihuahua’s don’t typically do well in shelter environments and are the 2nd most euthanized breed at shelters behind the Pit Bulls. The shelter did the right thing and reached out to a foster based rescue for help instead of euthanizing her. She has flourished in her foster home and has gained all her weight back.
Rosie is housebroken, has had her rabies and DHLPP vaccinations, has been spayed and Heartworm tested, and is micro chipped. For more information about Rosie, please contact rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. The adoption application can be completed at www.furfunrescue.org. Rosie is located in the Cedar Rapids, IA area.
