My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Playful and lovable are the best words to describe Brando! Brando is thought to be a Boxer/Shepherd mix and approximately 1 year old. He is 45# and loves to play, but once he's done playing he loves to snuggle. Brando came into our pgroam as an unclaimed stray from animal control. He knows the commands of sit, wait/stay, come, down, let go, leave it / ignore and seems comfortable with all things in a home environment. When he first arrived in the foster home, Brando gravitated towards the kids in the foster home and continues to love to snuggle and play with them as much as possible. Brando is currently in a foster home with two kids, three other dogs and a fenced yard; which is a great way for him to get his daily exercise. As a young dog, it is essential for him to get enough exercise - without this Brando may become bored and engage in undesirable behaviors (i.e., chewing). A forever home with kids and/or another playful dog and a 5 foot (or higher) fence is ideal (Brando has been known to go over a 4 foot fence). Brando has gotten along well with all dogs and people he has met. When he is excited, Brando occasionally jumps up to greet people, however, with consistency in training this is decreasing significantly. Because he is still young, Brando does occasionally engage in some soft play biting/mouthing behavior when trying to get your attention - this is very easily corrected and he can easily be refocused on an appropriate chew toy. Brando is house trained, as long as he's let out every few hours when you're home. He is crate trained for a full work day; barks appropriately and stops when directed to. Although Brando loves children, because of the play mouthing and occasional jumping to greet people, any children in his adoptive home should be approximately 6-8 years or older and responsible enough to help correct these behaviors if they occur.
Brando is neutered, current on distemper and rabies vaccinations, heart worm tested negative, and micro chipped. Brando's adoption fee is $250. If you would like to learn more about this handsome lovable dog, please call 651-771-5662.
