My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET GOGO!

GoGo is the perfect name for this little lady because she just loves to GO! GoGo was rescued from Philadelphia's animal control shelter by City of Elderly Love at the end of October where she had been surrendered with hairless all over her body due to an allergy to flea bites. Since then, GoGo has gone through quite the transformation! Though she does still have a bit of baldness on her back, she's looking and feeling like a whole new dog.

GoGo is around 10 years old and appears to be a Yorkie mix. You'd never know this girl was a senior since she has lots of fun energy and loves to prance and dance around the house! She has ridiculously adorable ears and medium-length coat with natural highlights! One of GoGo's favorite things to do is go for walks around the neighborhood. As soon as she sees you grab your shoes, she'll start dancing around in excitement. Though she took a little while to warm up to her foster mom after a stay in the scary shelter, she really loves to be with her people. She likes her dog bed, but really loves to curl up next to you (or on you!) and will even sneak under the covers on your bed. Because she can be a little timid with new people, we think she'd be happiest in a home without small children. GoGo lived with cats in her previous home and though has tried to chase a couple she's met since coming to the rescue, backs right off once she's used to them being around or if they tell her to get lost. Since she's never lived with them before, we think she'd be happiest in a home without other dogs. They make her nervous and she'll bark to let them know she's not interested in interacting. GoGo is crate trained and is also completely housebroken!

GoGo received a veterinary workup upon coming to the rescue. She was recently spayed and had a dental cleaning while under sedation so her pearly whites are once again pearly white. She'd benefit from staying on a high quality diet and regular flea treatment to avoid allergy flareups. She's otherwise a healthy and happy girl!

GoGo is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is also heartworm and lymes disease negative. Interested in adopting her?
