My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET BOB!

This big, sweet house panther joined City of Elderly Love after being picked up as a stray by a trap, neuter, release volunteer and found to have been microchipped. Unfortunately, his chip wasn't registered but it did tell us that he was around 12 years old. Another cold Philly winter outdoors didn't seem ideal for a senior cat who clearly loves his human friends so he's now on the hunt for the perfect home!

Bob is just a big, handsome, loveable lug. He was an easy addition to his foster home where he is living with other cats and dogs! He doesn't mind sharing his space with other pets but also isn't hesitant to give them a good snack if they're being too rowdy or intrusive. He'd do great as an only pet but we think he'd also do well in a home with other laidback friendly pets. Bob absolutely loves to interact with his foster family and demands head scratches daily. He'll make biscuits with his little old paws while getting them! He's otherwise very laid back, neat, and respectful - the perfect roommate! Bob has been fully vetted since coming to the rescue including receiving a dental cleaning and extractions.

Bob is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Interested in adopting him? Visit cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire or email us at info@cityofelderlylove.org!

More about this rescue

Operating as an independent subsidiary of Citizens for a No-Kill Philadelphia, City of Elderly Love is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue dedicated to saving and enriching the lives of adoptable senior pets in the Philadelphia area. Utilizing volunteer foster homes, City of Elderly Love aims to rescue these animals from potential euthanasia at area animal shelters as well as prevent older animals from entering the shelter-system in the first place, when possible. City of Elderly Love also provides palliative and hospice care when needed. Through creative marketing and community events, City of Elderly Love works to place its adoptable pets into loving adoptive homes.
