My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET GWEN!

This adorable little senior Papillon is named Gwen! She found her way to City of Elderly Love after being surrendered to a local shelter after her owner moved to an assisted living community. Gwen is really opening up in foster care and has shed her fearful exterior to show us her goofy, affectionate interior! She's now ready to begin the hunt for the perfect home.

Gwen is around 12 years old and is a tiny girl with disproportionately large ears! Gwen has shown to be a very happy little lady with her ears perked and tail wagging most of the time. She is partially deaf and blind, but it’s easy to forget she’s impaired as she gets around with little issue. Despite her age and impairment we still see this girl doing zoomies around the house! She does get nervous around stairs, but has proven she can overcome one or two with some practice. Her favorite things are being pet, eating treats, and taking naps. She has no interest in toys, she would rather be pet all day long, but she can really appreciate a good dog bed. Gwen is currently living with a cat, rabbits, a parrot, and another dog. She would do best with dogs who can respect her space. We think she'd be happiest in a home without small children or pushy/energetic dogs. Gwen is still working on her housebreaking skills and will need some time in a new home with an understanding adopter!

Gwen has been fully vetted since coming to the rescue. Her hair is growing back in from a prior flea allergy and she's had a dental cleaning with extractions to avoid future dental issues. She doesn't have many teeth left, but that doesn't bother her a bit!

Gwen is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Interested in adopting her? Visit www.cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire or email us at info@cityofelderlylove.org!
