Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET SOCKS!
This handsome gentleman is Socks, an 11 year old Domestic Longhair. He was rescued from Philadelphia's animal control shelter and is now safe with City of Elderly Love! Socks is a big dude and has an even bigger personality. He is very vocal and likes to tell you all about the things he's interested in: food, mousey toys, his leash, food, the one random sock he dug out of the wash, food, and food! Although he loves to eat, his diet needs to be controlled because he's diabetic. His diet consists of zero-carb canned food (as recommended by his vet) and getting outside for a walk and a nice wheatgrass salad every day (as insisted upon by Mr Socks himself). He will let you know when he's ready to go out by bringing you his leash. If he can't find that, he'll bring you the dog's leash, and if you hide all the leashes he'll bring your walking shoes!
Socks currently lives with dogs and other cats. He could happily be your one-and-only, but he's cordial with other pets, as long as they understand that he's the boss. He likes to be petted, but only on his terms, so he would do best with adults only or with children who can respect his personal space. Socks is genuinely grateful every time he gets his insulin and doesn't put up any fuss about taking it. In fact, he sometimes drags his insulin kit to his person to let them know he needs it, which is twice a day with breakfast and dinner - no biggie! This smart, sassy guy is well worth the extra effort it takes to control his health and is looking to steal your heart.
Sock is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love! He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is also FIV/FeLV negative and recently had a professional teeth cleaning!
