Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET MOTLEY!
This handsome guy is named Motley! Motley is a ~10 year old curly-haired mutt who was found as a stray and brought to Philly's animal control shelter. Luckily, he landed a foster home with City of Elderly Love! He is a very easy going guy. He walks down the sidewalk like he doesn't have a care in the world. He lights up with excitement when people or dogs stop to say hello. The most consistent comment he gets from passers-by is that he looks like a lamb, and between his long dainty legs and gentle personality it's hard to disagree. We're not sure what his "breed" actually is, but he weighs around 12 lbs. and our best guess is a Cockapoo or Poodle mix?
Motley loves attention and can be surprisingly vocal about it. He will groan with pleasure when you pet him in the right spots, and will bark with impatience if you take too long to greet him after you've returned home. He will look up at you with big brown eyes and lightly paw at you in a way that's almost impossible to resist. That said he's not overly demanding and is content to sit peacefully next to you if you don't have a free hand available. He likes to seek out the softest seats in the house like he's Princess and the Pea. It's not uncommon to come home from work and find him sleeping peacefully on the couch. He's also occasionally been spotted napping atop giant piles of clean laundry.
Motley recently lived in a foster home with other dogs, a cat, bunnies, and a bird! He isn't overly interested in playing with other dogs, but does enjoy spending time with them! He got along with everyone else flawlessly. He's just an easy going guy who'd fit in with most families! Motley is a little hard of hearing and is starting to develop cataracts due to his age, but all that means is it takes a little more effort to get his attention. He is otherwise healthy!
Motley is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love! He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm/lymes disease negative. He also recently had a dental cleaning at our vet!
