My story

Hi There! I’m Ben, a handsome 2 ½ year old Shepherd mix looking for a special person to be my best buddy. I was found as a 6 month old stray puppy and have been at the shelter way too long. I am a really playful and fun loving dog. Playing with people is so much fun! Going on walks would be a dream come true. I was told that I'm very good on a leash. I require daily medication for my shiny coat, but it’s not a big hassle. Please make my dreams come true and pick me for your best bud! I need you!

My adoption fee is $100.00 and this includes my sterilization, shots, and worming with an optional microchipping and registration for an additional $15.00. We have an adoption contract and adoption fees. The fee for a dog is $100.00 and a cat is $60.00. The fee includes mandatory spay or neuter and vaccinations.
If calling about an animal you may have to leave a message. Your call will be answered as soon as possible.

Our shelter is located at 49 Shelter Lane in Heber Springs, Arkansas. We are open Tuesday through Saturday from 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

More about this shelter

Our orginzation was founded by Doug Bakko. Funds were raised to build the original shelter on land donated. The shelter has since been expanded using donations and fund raisers. We are the only Shelter in Cleburne County. Our operating funds come from our Thrift Shop, donations, fund raisers and some assistance from the city of Heber Springs, surrounding towns and Cleburne County. We keep animals as long as we possibly can and work very hard at adoptions! We do this because we love animals and want to give them a safe haven and every chance possible to go to a loving home.
