My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Tucker!  He is precious, playful, and lovable.  Sporting long legs and a gorgeous smooth coat, this pup was born October 25, 2021.  At five months of age, he weighed 64 pounds.  He’s likely going to be a big boy when fully-grown, perhaps around 95 pounds.  He has soulful olive green eyes with golden specks.

Tucker is such a wonderful boy.  He is especially sweet to everyone, and he wants to be loved.  He is a bit timid around new people, but warms up quickly.  He is by far the sweetest, most even-tempered pup raised by his foster mom, and she has fostered over 25 puppies!

Baby Tucker loves to run and play.  He really enjoys when the neighborhood kids come over and play with him in the back yard.   He loves toys, especially tennis balls!  The Kong ones that squeak are his favorite.

He is good with other dogs and loves playing the them as well.  He must have a large, playful doggy companion in his forever home.  This buddy will help Tucker continue to grow into an amazing family dog.

He makes the cutest soft growly sound to express what he wants and when he plays with other dogs.  Other than that, he is relatively quiet and doesn’t bark much, preferring to let the other dogs do most of the barking.

After all that play, he takes in at least two naps a day and sleeps through the night.

Tucker is fully house trained.  Since he’s still just a young boy, his foster mom keeps a close eye on him and gives him an additional potty break in the middle of the night.

He is working on his leash training.

He loves his crate!  It gives him a feeling of security.  He goes in his crate when you vacuum or when someone comes to the door.  He sleeps in his crate at night and when his foster mom is out of the house.  He has toys in his crate and loves having a chewy toy in there to have something to do.

If you can get him in the car, he is great riding.  He needs more practice to be comfortable getting in the car himself.

We haven’t seen him with cats.

While he is great with older children, he might not be good with babies or toddlers, since he is still a baby himself.  If he jumps or pushes, he may accidentally hurt a small child.

OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
    1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
     2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day.  Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy.
     3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
     4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs.  They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.

Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors.  https://youtu.be/R6N8STRl2aI0

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
