Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET TOMMY!
This BIG BOI is Tommy! Tommy found his way to City of Elderly Love at around 8 years old. He's a former Philadelphia street cat who spent his entire life outdoors. He was lucky enough to be part of a managed cat colony that was regularly fed and vetted, so his caretakers noticed when he started getting older and being bullied by his fellow colony cats. They stepped into action to find Tommy an appropriate placement. He joined us and he’s been living the indoor cat life happily, ever since!
Tommy is big in stature and in heart! Weighing around 15 lbs, Tommy is a big softy! While not always in your face or on your lap, Tommy does enjoy affection and will follow you around the house to see what you're up to. He's currently living in foster care with both dogs and cats. He's used to being around other cats and after having some time to get to know the new ones in his foster home, he's become very comfortable with them! He also doesn't mind the dogs he's living with, one large and one medium though it took him some time to warm up and he'd prefer them not constantly in his face. He's living with two young children in foster care and gets along with them great! This big, easy-going lug took to indoor life just fine and is also fully litter box trained! You can check out more about Tommy on Instagram at @streetcattommy.
Tommy has been fully vetted since coming to the rescue. He's a healthy guy! He is FIV positive which we know isn't a huge deal. FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is transmitted to other cats by mating and extreme fighting. He's neutered and very friendly and appropriate with other cats so he can safely live with other cats with no issue. And because he's otherwise healthy, we expect him to live a long, happy life! We do ask that he remain an indoor-only cat from now on since it's safer and will ensure he stays healthy.
Tommy is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is also FeLV negative. Interested in adopting him? Visit www.cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire or email us at info@cityofelderlylove.org!
