My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi… my name is Nala. I’m a calm, friendly girl who’s feeling a little shy in the shelter right now. It’s a busy, overwhelming place for any cat, but I’m not aggressive at all—I just need a bit of time to feel safe and let my confidence come back. I came here because my family had to move and couldn’t bring me along. Before that, I lived happily indoors with adults, children, and another cat, and I got along well with everyone. I’m well-behaved, independent, and gentle by nature. I enjoy being picked up and handled, and I like affection on my own terms. Sometimes I’ll curl up in your lap, and when I’ve had enough petting, I’ll simply walk away. I also enjoy playtime—especially chasing a laser! With children, I’m relaxed and friendly, especially when they’re respectful. I’ve lived peacefully with another cat before, enjoying playtime, grooming, and quiet naps together. What I need now is a loving, patient home where I can settle in at my own pace and feel secure again. With kindness and care, I’ll be a wonderful, steady companion.
