Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Gus! This purebred Dogo Argentino came to Helping Paws at the beginning of 2023 in horrible shape. He was extremely emaciated - weighing only about 35 lbs, but his foster mom took wonderful care of him and now he is a happy and healthy 75 lbs and ready for his forever home!
Gus is only about 1 year old and definitely still acts a lot like a puppy :) He is learning not to jump on people or counters, as well as working on housetraining. Thankfully, he does very well in a crate and it does a good job of keeping him out of trouble when you can't watch him - LOL. He loves every person he meets and does wonderfully with other dogs and even cats! His ideal dog housemate would be one that could keep up with his wrestling style as he tends to annoy dogs that don't want to wrestle. He loves all kids of any age and size, but any home he goes to needs to be aware that he still is learning personal space and small kids could accidentally be knocked over. This big boy is very strong, so an adopter with breed experience with Dogos or other large and powerful breeds will be required.
Gus' adoption fee is $300 and he will come fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped! Interested in adding him to your family? Complete an adoption application today at www.helpingpawsonline.com/adoption-application
