My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Atlas! This guy ended up with Helping Paws after not adjusting well to life with the addition of a baby to the family. He is a very sweet and sensitive boy and can get easily spooked by kiddos that move too quickly. But he is currently in a foster home with older children and is doing great! He also came to us very nervous of men, but has gotten MUCH better since first arriving and gaining more confidence. He has the best tail wag where all of his butt wiggles and it will melt anyone's heart!

Atlas knows a lot of commands and is pretty good listener since all he wants to do his please his people :) He is housetrained and crate trained as well. He does ok in car, but it isn't his favorite thing. He also is doing well working on his leash training. Atlas needs a little bit to warm up to new dogs (again, it's just a lack of confidence with him), but once he does, he loves to run and play! He has become the resident puppy babysitter in his foster home and loves to run around with a toy so the puppies chase him! He can sometimes guard his toys with other animals, but we are working on correcting that as well and he's doing great. He did live with cats previously and currently has cats in his foster home, although he sometimes gets a little too interested in them so a dog savvy cat or no cats would probably best.

Atlas' adoption fee is $250 and he comes vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He is also heartworm negative and is current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Interested in adding him to your family? Visit www.helpingpawsonline.com/adoption-application

Go meet their pets

Helping Paws is a foster based rescue that does not have a facility to house our adoptables. We believe they are better off in a loving foster home while they wait for their forever family. If interested, please fill out an application, and we will set up a time to schedule a meet and greet for you and the animal.

More about this rescue

Helping PAWS is dedicated to improving the lives of animals locally, and nationally; alleviating their suffering and elevating their status in society through the rescue and rehabilitation of animals in need and through the education of their community on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare, advocating the value of all animal life, in hopes to end the neglect and abuse of all animals and to end the devastating pet overpopulation through spay and neuter advocacy.
