My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET BABY!

This gorgeous 12ish year old House Panther is named Baby! Her sleek black fur (along with a few splashes of white) and sleepy green eyes have a panther-like appearance, but she is actually very low-key and a bit shy. Baby joined the rescue after being found wandering around a block in Philadelphia where she had never been seen before. She was microchipped but it was unregistered. It's suspected that her former family couldn't keep her and let her outside in hopes of finding a new home.

It took Baby a little while to settle into her new foster home and spent the first few days being very shy but it didn't take long for her to begin showing her foster mom her adorable little personality! She'll give you little chirps to say hello and loves head and back scritches. She will run around doing little kitty zoomies but always looping back for some more pets. When she's extra happy, her little tongue will pop out of her mouth ever so slightly. She especially loves catnip and will roll around in content! Her favorite object is the scratching pad which she uses to scratch, as well as sit or lie down on, and just hang out. She also likes her little kitty condo for rest, relaxation, and napping.

When she came to the rescue, Baby's belly look distended so she got "the works" including a senior workup and an abdominal ultrasound which showed that she had some intestinal parasites, likely from drinking runoff water as a stray. She received some meds and she's feeling good as new! Baby is currently living with other cats in her foster home but doesn't love to share her personal space with them. We suspect that she's never lived with other animals and think she'd be happiest in a home without other animals. Baby can still be a little timid around loud noises or new people but that's pretty understandable since she's experienced so many changes in a short amount of time. We think she'd absolutely thrive and be an amazing companion in a quieter home with older kids.

Baby is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love! She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is also FIV/FeLV negative. Interested in adopting her? Visit cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire or email us at info@cityofelderlylove.org!
