Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**PIPER MUST BE THE ONLY PET IN YOUR HOME. NO EXCEPTIONS.
**NO SMALL KIDS ~~ SHOULD BE OK WITH OLDER KIDS/TEENAGERS.
**A FENCED YARD IS A REQUIREMENT FOR ADOPTION.
**CANNOT LIVE WITH: Dogs, cats, birds, small animals, or any other type of pet.
Piper is very good with people and would enjoy living in a home with a single person with no kids or couple without children. Piper may do well with older kids and teens who don't pull on her. She prefers a laid-back, mellow and calm lifestyle, because she is a pretty chill girl. So, a busy, loud or active lifestyle is just not her thing. Piper isn't overly energetic and does not seem to want a great deal of exercise and stimulation. Piper would be happy to be a couch potato with you and watch some good movies, then head out to the backyard and lay in the sun as you do your thing nearby.
Once she knows you, Piper is very sweet, affectionate, social and friendly towards people. She is more mellow and not a very high energy girl. She loves attention but can be a little shy, especially around new people. Piper prefers to be by herself at mealtimes and when she has to go outside to go potty. For this reason, a fenced yard would be a requirement for her adoption.
Piper is not a good candidate for dog parks, farmer's markets, dog friendly restaurants, etc. ~~ situations where other pets are present, or where she could come in contact with them. Piper is very reactive toward other animals.
In the privacy of her own home, backyard and with her own family, Piper will thrive, and you will see her true personality emerge. She will be just fine as an only pet and a wonderful companion for those who prefer only one dog.
Piper is eligible for our Senior for Seniors Discount if adopted by a Senior Citizen ~~ adoption fee waived and Piper receives 15% off vet services at Crabapple Knoll for the remainder of her life. Adoption fee is $130.
