If you’re looking for a companion and a dog that is eager to please - a dog who will love you unconditionally and is happy to snore next to you - King Beluga is the dog you want to meet. He is sweet, smart and attentive. He loves adventures, and would make a great hiking buddy. He’s picking up his loose leash training like a champ and is ready to explore the city or woods. He seems to walk best on his harness. When back home from your adventures, King is very content to curl up near you while you work or do your own thing. He`s very sweet, seeks affection from his person, and will lay his big ole noggin against you for comfort. He’s a solid, snuggly boy at 62 pounds.
This curious, happy-go-lucky boy loves learning, is eager to please, and already knows sit, paw, down, and wait. King can get a bit excited when asking for attention, but he is very responsive and easy to redirect, quickly settling into a polite sit. His favorite way to receive affection is leaning in close and asking for enthusiastic butt scratches. Once he’s had time to play and burn off energy, King becomes a calm and easy walking companion.
King is practically a celebrity! He’s been on the news twice recently, where he showed just how friendly he is and what a good boy he can be—complete with adorable pajamas and other outfits that everyone loved. Prior to his stay in a short-term foster home, King was also very popular on his Dog’s Day Out adventures. He visited the park, Federal Hill, and Fells Point, and warmed up quickly to every person he met. Volunteers described him as curious, sweet, and cuddly, making it easy to see why he has so many fans. He has done awesome with every person he has met!
King is currently staying in a temporary foster home so we can get more details about this snuggly boy. He is a pro jumping into the car and is a well-behaved passenger. He travels well with a seat belt so that he stays safely in the back. He is unfazed in a bustling city environment - traffic noises and busy streets are not an issue for him! He takes it all in stride. King is quick to settle once he is home. He loves to cuddle and watch TV - or just be nearby - but he isn’t clingy or overbearing.
King loves to run and play. In the yard, he happily zooms around, plays fetch, and soaks up the freedom of being outdoors. Afterwards he is more than ready to shift gears and enjoy some quality time with his people. In fact he spends most his time being a couch potato near y
